Hellier 1999
- Bibinfo (this paper at ADS)
- Hellier, C. 1999, ApJ 519, 324-331.
- Type
- Observational: Spin tomography of IPs.
- Object(s)
- FO Aqr,
V1025 Cen,
BG CMi,
PQ Gem,
EX Hya,
V2400 Oph, and
AO Psc.
- Results
- Spin tomography (of H-beta and/or HeII 4696) shows upper curtain
emissions only in AO Psc, FO Aqr, and BG CMi; the emission is azimuthally
extended, and predominantly at low velocities (i.e., the outer parts).
PQ Gem has emission lines from both curtains, with an unusual phasing.
Two curtains are probably seen in V2400 Oph. In EX Hya, and also probably
in V1025 Cen, the emission lines are formed closer in, in both curtains.
General caution: tomography can't handle line intensity changes
(i.e., optically thick lines).
