A finding chart for V2400 Oph

SkyView image of V2400 Oph (see important notes).

Position
  • Equatorial: 17h12m36.43s, -24d14m44.7s (J2000)
  • Galactic: l=359.87, b=+8.74
Finding Chart:
Buckley et al (1995).
Brigntness:
Optical ; fx (2-10 keV)~5.2x10^(-11) ergs/cm/cm/s (ASCA)
Periods:
  • Orbital: 3.43 hr period is inferred from the spin and sideband periods.
  • Spin: 0.010737 d = 15.46 min = 927.66 s, from optical polarimetry.
  • Others: 16.72 min =1003 s period dominates the emission lines, optical photometry, and X-ray photometry.
Inclination:
About 10o?
Distance:
?

This appears to be the prototype diskless IP (indirectly proving that other IPs do have disks?). It's also polarized.
