SkyView Images of Intermediate Polars

These are 300 by 300 pixel GIF files of the 8.5 arcmin by 8.5 arcmin area of the sky from the digitized sky survey centered on the IP, obtained using
SkyView. Coordinate system is equatorial, J2000 (north is up) and the projection scheme used is Gnomonic. The IP is pretty well centered on the chart in all cases.

Provenance - Data taken by Royal Observatory Edinburgh (Southern Sky) or Oschin Schmidt Telescope on Palomar Mountain (Northern Sky). Compression and distribution by Space Telescope Science Institute.
Copyrights - STScI, ROE, AAO, UK-PPARC, CalTech, National Geographic Society.

Important Notes

The digitized sky survey comprises the compressed digitization of the Southern Sky Survey and the Palomar Sky Survey E plates as distributed on CD ROM by the Space Telescope Science Institute.

The Palomar Sky Survey
Based on photographic data obtained using Oschin Schmidt Telescope on Palomar Mountain. The Palomar Observatory Sky Survey was funded by the National Geographic Society. The Oschin Shmidt Telescope is operated by the California Institue of Technology and Palomar Observatory. The plates were processed into the present compressed digital format with their permission. The Digitized Sky Survey was produced at the Space Telescope Science Institute (ST ScI) under U. S. Government grant NAG W-2166.
The Southern Sky Survey
Based on photographic data obtained using the UK Schmidt Telescope. The UK Schmidt Telescope was operated by the Royal Observatory Edinburgh, with funding from the UK Science and Engineering Research Council, until 1988 June, and thereafter by the Anglo-Australian Observatory. Original plate material is copyright © the Royal Observatory Edinburgh and the Anglo-Australian Observatory. The plates were processed into the present compressed digital form with their permission. The Digitized Sky Survey was produced at the Space Telescope Science Institute and US Government grant NAG W-2166.

Investigators using these scans are requested to include the above acknowledgements in any publications.

The Space Telescope Science Institute (AURA Inc) asserts a copyright on these data which forbids the general distribution of the southern data prior to June 1995 and the northern data prior to February 1996. The original survey data is copyright ROE, the UK-PPARC (Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council, the successor to the Science and Engineering Research Council), the AAO, CalTech and the National Geographic Society.
