V2306 Cygni = WGA J1958.2+3232

A finding chart for V2306 Cyg

SkyView image of V2306 Cyg (see important notes).

Position
  • Equatorial: 19h58m14.48s, +32d32m42.2s (J2000)
  • Galactic: l=69.05, b=+1.70
Finding Chart:
Israel et al (1999) (their star B).
Brigntness:
Optical V~16; fx (2-10 keV)~1.0x10-11 ergs cm-2s-1 (ASCA)
Periods:
  • Orbital: 0.181 d = 4.35 h = 15660 s from optical spectroscopy and photometry according to Zharikov, Tovmassian & Echevarria (2002).; 0.2245 d = 5.387 h = 19393 s, according Norton et al (2002).
  • Spin: 0.0169752 d = 24.44 min = 1466.66 s, from optical and X-ray photometry, in which half the spin period (733.33 s) is the dominant period.
    HJD = 2451739.318445(2) + 0.0084876(4)E
(Norton et al 2002) for the two equally spaced minima per spin period.
  • Others: Beat period of 1587.24 s is present in optical photometry, although one of its one-day aliases is stronger in the periodogram.
Inclination:
?
Distance:
?

Originally proposed as a Be/neutron star binary, but this is an IP.
