• Google, far and away the best search engine. Check out Google's Images search engine and Google Groups (formerly DejaNews), too. Google Groups represents a USENET archive going back to 1981!
• Yahoo!'s People Search, for looking up telephone numbers and email addresses
• RPMFind, for locating Linux RPM files. (One can also locate the home page for a given package this way.)
• Switchboard.com, on-line phone book.
• Map Quest and MapBlast! are both very useful map locations.
• weather.com for on-line forecasts.

• Finding Periodic Postings (FAQs and PIPs)

• Free OnLine Dictionary Of Computing", very good & quick way to decode acronyms and terms
