Study of the Response Fidelity Loss Resulting from Reducing the  Number of Slices

Using the Hecht relation, I calculated the ratio eta = E_prime/Ein as well as its first derivative:

    I actually used 250 bins for the following calculation of the output spectrum from a 198 keV photon:
While there were only 25 different depth distribution values, I subdivided each of the 25 depth bins into 10 "sub-slices" and calculated eta separately for each sub-slice.

    Using the multi-mutau model with Goro's 36 pairs of mutau_e and mutau_h (but without noise for the moment), I calculated the output spectrum as a weighted sum of the 36 spectra.  Below is  a plot of the 90-channel (20-200 keV) output spectrum generated using 1000 depth slices (thin line) on top of the same spectrum generated using 25 depth slices and 250 calculations of eta = E_prime/Ein (thick line):
