MOXE Detector Efficiency
Soren asked whether we could get an idea of whether the
efficiency of the detectors is a function of position from the
current calibration data. I took the positioner test data, and
compared the number of hits received as a function of angle with
a simple model for what would be expected. The model assumes the
same number of photons No was sent in during each run of the
positioner, and that the angular dependence of the absorption is simply
related to the thickness of the window as seen by the beam. This
model does not take into account the variation of the shape of the
PSF as a function of angle. For each image, I plot here the number
of hits versus position, the model for each detector (the absorption
coeffiecient and number of incident photons are calculated once for
each detector by fitting to the data at the center and edges) and the
percentage difference between the model and the data. Also shown is
the histogram of the percentage difference.
