Researh Interests
Most of my research projects are on magnetic Cataclysmic Varibles (CVs),
both of AM Her
type and Intermediate Polars subclasses.
My approach is observational with an emphasis on multi-wavelength
observations; even when the data are limited to one wavelength range,
I try to keep information from other wavelengths in mind for interpretation.
I am also interested in X-ray observations of non-magnetic CVs:
X-ray eclipses, X-ray emissions from high accretion rate systems,
early X-ray emissions from classical novae.
I also work on Low-Mass X-ray Binaries, including those in Globular Clusters
and in the nearby spiral galaxy, M101.
My current research projects include:
- Chandra HETG
observation of V1223
Sgr.
- Chandra HETG
observation of the non-magnetic Old Nova, V603 Aql.
- Chandra ACIS-S
observation of the eclipsing, magnetic Old Nova,
DQ Her.
- Chandra ACIS-S
observation of the nearby face-on spiral galaxy, M101, in particular
the bright X-ray binaries therein.
- RXTE observations
of eclipsing magnetic CVs, EX Hya and V1432 Aql.
