I first came to the Laboratory for High Energy Astrophysics (now called the Exploration of the Universe Division ) in NASA / Goddard Space Flight Center in April 2002 to work with Demosthenes Kazanas as a National Research Council fellows. In May 2004 I moved to the Joint Center for Astrophysics of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and NASA / Goddard Space Flight Center , where I work with Eric Perlman . In July 2005, I became a Research Assistant Professor. Last fall I taught a junior-level cosmology class in UMBC, and this fall I am organizing a a journal club entitled "Ideas in Astrophysics"
In my work, I devise ways for using the radiation of active galaxies and other cosmic sources exhibiting relativistic outflows to understand the physical conditions in these environments. It's almost like playing Sherlock Holmes, but you don't get to visit the scene of the crime. Still, it's a lot of fun.
