Areas of Research




 Astroparticle physics.  Current research includes measuring atmospheric
cosmic ray induced muon and meson production and the antimatter and light
isotope components of cosmic rays using balloon-borne experiments.  Investigating
the interactions of ultrahigh energy (E > 10^20 eV) particles in the atmosphere
of the earth.  Also involved in the research and development of novel detectors
(particularly semiconductor) and related VLSI electronics for gamma ray astronomy
and charged particle spectroscopy.
