TO: All GCN Sites RE: BATSE Lightcurves in graphical format available again DT: 13 Nov 99 The GCN system once again has BATSE lightcurves in browser-graphical format. Back in October 1998 they stopped being produced and it took a long time for me to notice it and to fix it. The text-format and postscript-format versions have always been available, but the GIF and JPEG formats have been unavailable for a year. The GIF & JPEG files have been restored back to 01 Oct 99 (further restoration will occur in the next week or two). For reference, these various lightcurve formats are available from the BATSE Trigger web page (http://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/gcn/batse_grbs.html) under the "L.C." (lightcurve) column of the table. That column has a "yes" link entry in it when the lightcurves are available. Please remember that for any given BATSE trigger there will be multiple entries (rows for the Original, Final, MAXBC, and Locburst Notices). Since the lightcurves are produced midway through the Original/Final/MAXBC/Locburst sequence, the "yes" L.C. link entry will only be present in the Original & Final rows. However, the lightcurves are valid for all Notice forms of the given trigger -- it's only an artifact of the automated editing of the html file that produces the missing ("n/a") entries in the MAXBC and Locburst rows. Sincerely, Scott PS The files have been restored back to 03 Mar 99.
