Koji is a USRA research scientist at the Laboratory for High Energy Astrophysics at the NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.

Responsibilities

• ASCA Guest Observer Facility: SIS calibration, archive maintainance, documentation, user interaction.
• Astro-E2 (proto-)Guest Observer Facility. The GOF is currently in planning stage for future data processing, analysis software, and mission planning needs.
• PIMMS.

Research Interests

Studies of accreting binaries, in particular magnetic cataclysmic variables, using multiwavelength observations and X-ray spectroscopy. See my research interest page for more.

Education and Public Outreach

Koji is a member of the Imagine the Universe! team, and currently coordinates its Ask a High Energy Astronomer service.

He also directed the development (by Maggie Masetti) of the Astro-E Learning Center and is heavily involved in the Astro-E2 E/PO activities.

If you're travelling to ISAS...

Koji has also acted as an unofficial tour guide and/or helped book hotels near ISAS on many occasions, and started a travel guide page.
